Of Thanksgiving And First Miracles
“Glory and honor, dominion and power
Now and forever, the Lord God omnipotent;
Reigneth with power, forever with power;
Greater than all, you are sovereign God”- Kurt Carr
This has been my song since Monday. You know how you’ll be believing God for something for a long time and finally, he does it? Well, mine has been since 2010. Yep. You read right. 2010. Imagine praying the same prayer for two years without getting an answer. “Continuous defeat weakens a man”- Pastor Okpanachi. That quote explains oh too well how I felt. I felt like God wasn’t going to answer my prayers and at some point, I stopped praying. I realised I had rebelled against God and retraced my steps to my Father.
“Now to him that is able to do
exceeding abundantly above all that
we ask or think, according to the
power that works in us”- Ephesians 3:20.
Considering the story behind everything, I know there’s a reason God brought me through this- for his Glory. There was a test of faith along the way. To God be the Glory, I didn’t fall for the devil’s trap. What good would it be if all the ‘goodness’ of the devil is to flatter me and then I face the real trouble later?
“The blessing of the Lord- He makes [truly] rich, and he adds no sorrows to it [neither does toiling increase]”- Proverbs 10:22 (Amplified version).
The devil is really cute, you know. After God had put a new song in my mouth, he tried to spoil it by placing temptations on my way. The kind that would make me grumble against God and thus be ungrateful. Somebody say after me, ‘DEVIL IS A LIAR’. I quickly recognised them for what they were and turned my mind away from them with the Word of God.
“Your Word have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against you”- Psalm 119:11
I know God isn’t done with me yet. This is just the first miracle of the year and the month in particular. I expected more each month and I trust he will do it. He’s after all God and there’s nothing impossible for him to do. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
“I am confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you (me) will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”- Phillipians 1:6.
You might ask, is this supposed to be a testimony? And why is she telling it here? Well, two answers. Yes it is. Telling the world truthfully and in all humility puts the devil to shame.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony”- Revelations 12:11.
Is there anything you’re believing God for? You don’t have to worry. Prayer changes things. After all,
“Ask and it shall be given unto you; seek and you shall find; knock and the door shall be open”- Mathew 7:7
Also, you must have faith that God will do it. After all, without faith, you can not please God. Even if your faith is as small as a mustard seed, speak to that problem and it will heed.
“… The God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were”- Romans 4:17
I know it’s quite the long post but I just thought to share. Who knows? It might be what someone needs to hear/read.
“Oti se se o
Oti se se o
Oti se se o
Adupe”- Tunde and Wummi Obe
