The Best Of Patience
Few days back, my little cousin came to me and
presented her homework from school. She
wanted guidance on how to answer the
questions. We began the exercise and mid way, i
got so angry with her. Over and over again, we’ll
go through one question and solve it. When i tell
her to take a cue from the just solved question
and answer the others, i get a blank look of
confusion from her.
I impatiently and angrily left her and went to bed.
As i laid down, i got struck with the reality of How
patient and understanding God can be. Most
times, He expects us to follow the path He has
already carved out for us. But, we still don’t get it
and we look up again to Him with a child’s
confusion. He doesn’t push us aside tags us as
dull, short-sighted or stupid. Instead, He patiently
guides us again and again through His destined
path for us.
He lovingly assures us of the reward at the end of
every exercise. And this inspires us more to solve
the toughest puzzles in life with Him by our side.
That is the father-heart of God.
As i still laid back on the bed, i learned this strong
lesson that i wont forget so quickly. With sleep in
my eyes coupled with the fact that i was bone-
tired. i grudgingly stood up and continued the
exercise with her.
For, if my Father can be this patient with me, then
who am i?
